HOW TO MEASURE FOR YOUR NEW BUFFALO HEAD BELT:
(Preferred method) Take a belt you currently wear, lay it on a flat surface and starting by the end nearest the buckle, measure from the fold of the leather to the hole you now use. Then round this measurement to the nearest even number - this is the size you order from us (see the illustration on any belt product page).

(Next best method) Measure your waist (through the belt loops) and choose the closest even number - this is the size you order from us.
if all else fails
If you are not able to use either method above, add 2 inches to pant size for men, 4 inches to pant size for women. Then round to the nearest even size.
Make no mistake, this is a quality made leather belt. In every way. But it is way lighter, thinner than I expected. $53.99 for a leather belt I just expected it to be thicker. It is not. But as far as quality it is 5 stars. But it is not a heavy duty belt (thick, wide, etc). The 1-1/4 width does not look it being thin. I’d ordered 1-1/2 if I’d knew. But it’s a good belt….

The belt which you purchased is advertised as a dress/casual belt, and althought it is made of high quality long lasting full grain buffalo leather, it is not intended as a 'heavy duty' belt. After ordering a belt from a big box store, and receiving a dog leash instead which was a pain to return, I hit the web in search of a better option. After a full search of many competing sites, I settled on Buffalo Head based on reviews, options, and fair price. Very happy with my decision, this belt and denim blue version I also bought are well made, the width and length I wanted. The leather itself is more supple than expected and believe with some breaking in will be the most comfortable belt I have ever worn. My son commented on the nice color when he saw it and I likely will get him one as a present.
